1968-70 started and directed CMU (album Open Spaces, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Purcell Room concert) with Terry Mortimer (later MD at the National Theatre) and Roger Odell (later of Shakatak)…first book Music of the People . .. resident pianist in jazz clubs…R and B with the Soul Stirrers…Persuaded Oxford to let him to do a Music degree, though he had no formal qualifications.
